WSRC is referred as "World Silk Roads Connections", is bringing the vast network of its business associates and industry resources together to explore opportunities for cooperation on the “One Belt One Road” (OBOR) initiative by China.

The OBOR is a development strategy and framework that was first unveiled by Chinese President Xi Jinping in September and October, 2013. It consisted of the continental “Silk Road Economic Belt” and the “Maritime Silk Road”, hence “One Belt, One Road”. The two Silk Roads were the most important trade routes that connected China to other parts of the world. They had a wider impact that just commerce, as they had helped the exchange of great cultures across the Asiatic Continent, and the Asian Seas.
